Dolce & Gabbana’s Night Out

Since I arrived in the UK less than two weeks ago, I have apparently given up on sleeping. I don’t know why, exactly. The days are so long that by the time the sun finally sets, my friends and family back home are just really getting into Instagram-ming, Facebook-ing, Tweeting, and WhatsApp-ing for the day. Come 10pm Greenwich Mean Time, I have a lot of socializing to do! Anyway, that’s my very convoluted reason for bringing you some somewhat stale fashion news…blame it on the jet lag.

Last week the premiere for Woody Allen‘s latest film, Magic in the Moonlight, was held in New York. The trailer is cute and it’s probably worth checking it out when it hits theaters in a few days. Set in the 1920s, the costumes and sets are likely worth the ticket price alone. Stay tuned for a future blog post on that, I’m sure…

The red carpet for Magic in the Moonlight was a bit of a one trick (one designer?) pony, with three of the best looks coming from ladies in Dolce & Gabbana. Apparently they sponsored the premiere, I guess…check out the photo wall behind the stars. I’m not complaining. I have loved most everything Dolce & Gabbana have done since the beginning of time.

Audrey Tautou – This is so cute, but not too cute. I don’t know how old she is now and I think that’s a good thing. I feel like she has been around for a while but French women are so timeless and sort of ageless, too, aren’t they? Matching the red lips to the red sandals (Prada) is on point. The little shoulder bag is just so “hey, I’m just casually attending this big premiere party. No big deal.”

Margaret Qualley – The daughter of Andie MacDowell looks paradoxically younger than her 19 years in this high neck, mid-calf dress. The way I just described it makes it sound almost matronly, but she brings a youthfulness to it with her mussy ponytail and subtle pretty makeup.

Emma Stone – The star of the film stood out from the crowd in an ankle-grazing floral dress with strappy nude heels. I love this dress. I can’t even put it all into words; that’s how I know I really love something. It’s even better in motion (see the photo below of her arrival with Spderman co-star boyfriend Andrew Garfield).

So pretty! I want! Who is going to make me a fast fashion version of that first? Speaking of which…I really  need to hit the High Street this weekend.

Much love, Madison Blake
